It"s time to ride again in the East Bay hills. The roads have been pretty beat up by the weather, but we have rerouted about 6 times to get the route ready. Come join for drinks on Friday or the long ride on Sat or the awesome bar ride on Sunday: Friday April 21 8:30PM - Meet at First & Last Chance Saloon, located at 48 Webster St, Oakland, CA 94607 (MAP IT!) for a quick drink. Ride leaves at 9PM for a quick jaunt through the docks, ending at The Legionnaire Saloon, located at 2272 Telegraph Ave. Oakland, CA 94612 (MAP IT!). Saturday April 22 9:30AM - *** We are changing the route due to road closures. Read on *** Meet at Cole Coffee, located at 6255 College Avenue, Oakland, CA 94618 (MAP IT!) for a cup-o-joe and a pastry. Ride leaves at 10AM for a very long 125 mile rip through the Berkeley, Oakland hills, into Castro Valley, and down through Livermore wine country. We"ll be stopping in Pleasanton for lunch. After lunch it is up into Mt. Diablo for an amazing run to the top, then out the North Gate and into Walnut Creek. (Please note that entry fee into Mt. Diablo is $10. Think of it as a donation to support the park system. Besides, that"s only the cost of 2 drinks from Starbucks.) From there we"ll rip through the back roads into Tilden Park, eventually dropping back to Cole Coffee. This is an epic ride. Route for Saturday: WAY THERE (53 miles to lunch), WAY BACK (72.4 miles back) Sunday April 23 9AM - *** Meeting spot changed *** Meet for breakfast at Caffe Trieste, located at 2500 San Pablo Ave, Berkeley, CA 94702 (MAP IT!). Ride leaves at 10AM for a scenic 75 mile round trip through Tilden, onto Briones Regional Park, through the back roads of Martinez, and into the awesomeness that is the Warehouse Cafe, located at 5 Canyon Lake Dr, Port Costa, CA 94569 (MAP IT!), for lunch. There is also food at the haunted ex-brothel Burlington Hotel Cafe if you can get a table. The ride back will be the reverse route.
