DescriptionIf you are interested in a stunning vintage P200 Vespa, at the right price. Read on: THIS SCOOTER IS BEAUTIFUL. If I do say so myself. The frame is a 1978 P200E. The frame is straight and nicely finished with Omni Base Coat/Clear Coat Indigo Blue and Pewter. The motor is a 1977 P200E. The Stator leads are rewired. This Stator is the earlier P200 vintage. Also, the wiring harness and secondary harness were replaced. A new battery comes with it. The motor bearings, seals and internal buffers were replaced, as well as the cylinder, piston, piston rings and curmudgeon (wrist) pin and bearing. The cylinder and piston were found to be scored enough that I elected to replace them. The cylinder (stock bore) was purchased used from a gentleman who was replacing his stock cylinder with an oversize racing cylinder. The piston, piston rings, wrist pin and crank bearing were purchased new. The crank was replaced with a used crank from another motor that was in good condition. This stock crank became available when the original owner replaced it with a cut down crank. (Another hot rodder.) The gearing was in good condition, and had been properly lubricated. This scooter has a side stand and, a center stand. It has the desireable BBQ rack (powder coated). However, the buddy seat back rest is not with it. The stock muffler has been replaced with a Sito Plus collector. The tires and tubes are in excellent condition. Although, they are original to the 2009 restoration. The fore and aft Wheels are Custom FA Italia. The spare is a stock wheel. The spare wheel, tyre and tube are “get me home”. I would not recommend using them for continued service. While this is an older restoration (2009), there are very few miles on the engine since being reconditioned. At most 500. Vespa’s in particular, and scooters in general, have been my hobby for a few years. This is one of four P200’s that I have rebuilt. All of which are still operating. Of course, I cannot guarantee this scooter. I am not a dealer, or a service technician. It is after all, a 37 year old motor and a 36 year old frame. That being said, I have no reason to believe that there is any serious mechanical problems with this scooter. It always starts on the last kick! Usually two or three. Just like all of the rest of my P200’s, you need to become one with the scooter. This scooter runs well. It comes with a clean, transferable Florida Title, currently in my name. Please see the attached photos. Not professional, but representative. Local pick-up is preferred. This scooter is located near West Palm Beach, Florida.
