Offering this beautiful vintage 1963 Lambretta Li 150 Special scooter---one of the most iconic Lambretta models ever made.
The scooter is not currently running, hence the low price; but an investment of time by you or one of the bay area’s vintage scooter mechanics can make this the ride of your dreams. I know that the scooter needs some electrical work, but it has been a couple of years since I have ridden it, so I’m not sure if the engine needs any attention. At one point, this was one of my regular riders. I simply don’t have time for any additional scooter projects right now.
This Italian beauty boasts an original 150cc engine, with an after market pipe and expansion chamber. That setup, in addition to the large Japanese Mikuni carburetor, allows this scooter to drive at maximum of 75 mph when running. The body was repainted at some point before my ownership and has marks, touch-ups, etc. commensurate with age. For a regular driver, the paint still looks good; for a full restoration, the owner could choose to repaint. The rear engine cowl covers on this scooter are from an original Li 150 (not a “Special”), but I prefer the looks of these to the differently styled Special cowls (the fit is the same and perfect---I just want any restorers to know the specifics).
This Li 150 Special also has chrome mod accessories such as from crash bars, rear luggage rack and spare tire holder; chrome mirrors and stems (I have extras of these as well). Vintage Hella foglights on the crash bars look great and work as running lights. As this was a regular driver at one point, the chrome has some slight rust areas and pitting commensurate with age, but again---does not detract from the look of the bike.
With a little love, this vintage scooter can be a great regular rider or the basis of a quick restoration. Either way, this is a fantastic scooter---AN ABSOLUTE HEAD-TURNER. Feel free to email.
