1974 Vespa Rally 200 (registered as a 1973)
The Rally 200 was the top of the line Vespa in 1974. The Rally is a favorite in the scooter community for its combination of good looks and speed.
From a racer’s perspective, this scooter checks all the boxes.
The Rally wears black paint with a classic racing stripe featuring the Sparrows Scooter club. Upgraded to a 12 volt system removing the troublesome Femsatronic ignition system.
RACE TUNING:
EXHAUST: 226 H-Bomb racing exhaust.
CYLINDER: Racing Malossi 210, head by SIP/MMW.
IGNITION: Race ignition VESPTRONIC, Serie Pro Vespatronic wiring loom, MMW Aluminum billet cut cooling fan (upgraded from the plastic Vespatronc one ).
CARBURETOR: PHB 30/Mikuni, Malossi reed valve intake manifold, Racing air filter.
CLUTCH: Cosa2/DRT with basket ring, Clutch gear cog 20-24 teeth.
CRANKSHAFT: Worb 5 race cut crank. GEARBOX: Short 4th DRT.
BRAKES/SUSPENSION/RIMS - SIP Steering Column for disc brake conversion, Grimeca Master Cylinder System, Bitubo front shock , SIP Rear Performance shock, Newfren Rear Pads, SIP Tubeless rims. Front mud guard was custom cut and covered (HotRod inspired)
SEAT - Sport Corsa
DROP BARS - Euro (Larger Headlight) handle bars, that were custom dropped.
One unique feature of the 1974 Rally in particular, is the ignition key, Piaggio put the key under the seat for this year only.
This is a fast scoot, but if you live at sea level it is wicked fast. (For all you California scooterist, you will not want to pass this one by). |
