Vespa Allstate 100 from 1952
Year/Make/ModelVespa Allstate 100 from 1952
DescriptionOnly because I have a another Allstate project I will give away this gorgeous scooter. It is one of the rarest Vespa models at all. Compare to the Allstate specialist Scoot D. (New Jersey) there are only nine Vespa Allstate 100 still existing (plus two pre-models and two+ mixes 100/101). And this scooter with the chassis number VA2T 1465 is the third oldest known Allstate 100. This Allstate Vespa is from the first year of construction of this scooter, which was specially manufactured in Italy for the North American market. It differs from the outside, easily recognizable by the nameplate on the jewel flap and the central Allstate emblem on the front of the cascade. I bought the scooter from a collector in New Jersey in December 2016. The previous owner kept a register for the early Allstate for years and is one of the US specialists for the Vespa Allstate (he works for Volvo and is therefore familiar with the whole thing). The restoration was carried out with a lot of love and expertise. You can see the fantastic result in the pictures. The Vespa starts well and runs nicely, but would also be a star in any collection. Of course, all the original Allstate parts are existing, like the handlebar, the floor runners, the two license plate holders and the Allstate emblem on the top of the cascade. Otherwise, most of these parts would hardly be available even for money and good words. In addition, Allstate typical accessories are installed, such as the front luggage rack (was delivered by Sears Allstate at an additional cost). The spare wheel holder and the grab rail are original accessories. The passenger seat cushion or “bread roll” roughly corresponds to the contemporary original in terms of shape and design. The scooter starts and runs, lights working. Clear title from NJ. There is also a "Certificate of Origin" from the manufacturer Piaggio & C.S.p.A. with the no. 33106/17. The Vespa was therefore sold by Piaggio/Italy to the USA on 7th of June, 1952. The original US vehicle registration document ("Certificate of Title") is available. The engine number starts with 22, which also shows the connoisseur that it is a particularly early Allstate. The Vespa can be registered and driven immediately. As the Allstate 100 is one of the rarest Vespa models ever and it is an Italian Vespa because the Allstates were made in Italy, that is what makes them so popular in Italy, too. This Vespa cannot be compared with most of the Vespas on the market. It is absolutely rare and a model that is very much sought after by collectors worldwide, and even an investment. The Vespa can be inspected by appointment in Florida. I am happy to help with shipment by a forwarding agency which must be organized by the buyer. Contact me for further pictures, price or if you have a question.
