Bump starting is used when a manual transmission scooter is not able to be started with the kickstarter.

  1. Turn the ignition ON.
  2. Turn the fuel tap ON, ensuring there is fuel in the tank.
  3. Engage the clutch by depressing the clutch lever.
  4. Shift into 2nd gear.
  5. Run with the bike while the clutch is engaged.
  6. When going at a good speed, jump on the bike.
  7. Disengage the clutch (release the clutch lever), at the same time giving the scooter a bit of gas with the throttle.

Repeat if necessary.
