Center stand

Fot times when a kickstand will not do, many scooters have a centerstand.

Most look like a metal "H" that folds from the underside of the scooter towards the rear tire. By pulling the scooter up and forward, while pushing the stand down and back with your foot, the bike is put onto the centerstand. The scooter should be taken off its stand before putting serious weight onto it. The centerstand is useful when changing a tire or working under the bike. It allows one tire to be raised off the ground for work. Both tires can be raised off the ground slightly for winter storage using the centerstand. On soft ground, the centerstand may be better than a kickstand. Just extend the stand and let the scooter settle into the mud evenly.
