Tuning involves changing the stock configuration to achieve non-stock performance. Tuning can achieve different things: more low end torque, for example, or more high-end speed. Tuning your bike for a specific area can cause weakness in other areas: Tuning for the high end may change how the scooter accelerates, making it sluggish. Tuning may also affect reliability, causing parts on the scooter to wear faster or replacing stock parts altogether with lighter but less durable parts.
