Description | This is a 1963 Vespa 90. It is running at the moment. I was working on this bike for a friend of mine who wanted to get it running again. I found the problem is with the carb. I purchased a rebuild kit, and got the carb working properly. However, I noticed during the rebuild someone had used sealant to mate the two main parts of the carb together. What this means is that when the carb works properly, it leaks a little bit. I think they are two different carbs put together as one, and they are simply a poor fit. I installed a brand new rear shock and buffer on this bike. I also noticed that the engine has some liquid sealant between the cases. I think somebody just didn't take their time when rebuilding this bike. I haven't split the cases, but I can tell from riding the bike that the clutch slips and will probably have to be replaced. My friend is asking $1000 OBO. Please feel free to ask any questions. |
