Description | Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I'm selling the dream. Hopefully to buy the reality though.
When I bought this beautiful girl 3 years ago, well...let's just say between me not knowing what I was doing, along with things being way worse than they looked, I got in over my head pretty quickly. For someone that wanted to learn about wrenching for the first time, not just on a Vespa but in general, this thing was scary. Heck...my dad, who'd signed on to to this project with me, grew up working in his dad's auto repair shop, but he turned tail and ran a long time ago.
If you're interested in an intimate relationship with a piece of metal, this old girl is looking to spend some quality time. Those who have been around modernvespa.com a while may remember my old thread and posts. If you go looking, don't say I didn't tell you it was scary.
Most recent status is that we've looking at a straight frame but the floorboards are gone. However, I'll be supplying a replacement set that need to be welded in. There's also a strip on the frame where the battery used to sit in the cowl that I've got a replacement for as well.
The engine on this thing was shot, so I've got another that's free. I'll give you both engines, if you want to call the first one an engine anymore.
Floorboards have been stripped, all the nuts and bolts have been cleaned off the frame, so it's pretty much ready to go to body. Old cabling still in place so you can tie in and pull through for the new stuff. Also comes with a complete set of brand new cables, still in the plastic baggies.
I'm willing to drive a couple hours to meet you if you're serious about buying, but I'd definitely suggest you come see it in person to make the decision. You'll either fall in love with it or run away screaming.
I'm more than willing to answer any questions. Pictures and details can be provided as I'm able. |
