Description | You are looking at a 100% restored, true showroom condition Vespa VBB 2T 150cc motorscooter. This scooter was restored in-house at Bar Italia Classics in Van Nuys, Calif., an internationally recognized authority on Vespa restoration, history and preservation. Quite simply, you will not find a nicer, more accurately restored VBB anywhere in the world. If you want the best, this is it!
The scooter you see here, in its rare “export” off-white, was originally sold right here in California in 1965 and was one of the very last VBBs off the Italian assembly line. While by 1965, the sharper lines of the Sprint and Super models had already supplanted the GL and VBB in Italian showrooms, many export markets, including the U.S., continued receiving new VBBs until very late in the year.
The Vespa 150 “VBB” was the bread and butter of the Vespa range from its introduction in 1961 until its eventual phase-out and replacement by the Vespa 150 Super (VBC) in 1965.
Sadly, because of this model’s relatively high production numbers, the VBB is often one of the most abused, neglected and mis-"restored” of all Vespa models. We showcase this concourse example to illustrate the timeless beauty of this model as the original designers intended. Pure simple lines exactly as it left the factory, nothing more, nothing less. If you are shopping on ebay (or anywhere) for a classic Vespa, you will come across several sellers who claim to have "restored" scooters for sale. We do not use that word lightly; this is most likely the only truly restored Vespa currently on ebay. At Bar Italia Classics, we simply operate on an entirely different level.
