| Description | The scooter is restored with collector plates. The buyer would have to re-apply for status as the law states they do not transfer. But should not be a problem as there have been no changes to the bike since the plates were issued. The scooter was restored by the Capital City Scooter Club in Victoria for their 20th annual scooter rally in 2004. I rode it off and on as I felt it needed and enjoyed it well owning it. Really hate to see it go. Other projects and taking the family to Hawaii in March. The cool story is that a couple of members of the club had seen this scooter on mayne island; from the ferry over the years and always wanted to check on it. One of the members got up the nerve and tracked down the owner who was very happy to sell it to someone who would restore it back to it beautiful former self.
One of the restorers told me they had to load it in to a row boat and row it across to pender island where they had a truck waitng to take it to Victoria. Then the process of restoration began. Here is a link to the clubs web site where they have documented the restoration from start to finish.

In the pictures one the website you can see the extent of the work done to the bike. The motor is the original motor rebuilt from a 125cc to a 150cc runs well shifts and drives well.
Not sure if you know the history of Vespa Allstates. These were Italian made by Piaggio (makers of Vespa) for Sears and Roebuck and sold exclusively to the North American market through the sear catalogue. This is an italian badged model with matching motor. Easy candidate for the cheap Collector plate insurance.
