1968 Vespa VLB1 150
Year/Make/Model1968 Vespa VLB1 150
DescriptionThis is a newly revived '68 Italian VLB1 150 with the rectangular headlight that was only used for a couple of years. The engine was rebuilt in 2006 because it seized and a piston ring broke. I bored out the cylinder and put a slightly larger piston in. Front fork was slightly bent so I put in a new one with new shocks and everything. Everything else was gone through in 2006 and the bike ran reliably until stored in late 2008. After spending too long in storage the bike started but didn't run so the fuel tank was replaced. The mechanics have all been gone through a couple of times now and the bike now runs strong, comes with a title from 2006 and service records from Sportique scooters in Denver. I also have a 20/20 carb that I'll throw in (would probably work with a Sito) to make it faster than 150cc with the bored out cylinder. Cosmetically the bike needs work, its rusted through in places, dented and floorboards should be strengthened or replaced when possible. Also needs new upholstery on the seat. It's a bit of a project for body work but runs well. Definitely a collector's piece if restored fully. Asking $1600 OBO
