| Description | I am, from my collection of Vespa Piaggios, selling a very special and sought after model - V31 - manufactured 1951.
Often referred to as FARO BASSO (the headlight on the front fender) and the model is also known for it’s exposed fan cover, designed not only for looks but to increase airflow to the engine. This model among the Piaggio production often warrants extra interest due to its beautiful design and “broad, feminine shapes” as well as visible wires and the previously mentioned headlight.
This Vespa has been driven in the northern parts of Sweden meaning a short season due to our long winters and that in itself makes it less used than the average user.
The Vespa had, at the time I purchased it, the wrong lacquer color so I decided to remove the current paint, repair and even out the body with sandblasting and spackling paste as well as a two component primer color.
Funny fact is that in the area where this Vespa was rolling there was a tractor factory that sold out lacquer color for a good price and I have myself seen several scooters and motorcycles i the same yellow color. (insert happy face).
The original color should be a light green and the color code is Max Meyer 6002M.
Because of old age I will not finish putting on the final coat of lacquer.
The Vespa has all this time been in official registers and is inspected in Sweden without remarks, before I took it apart I rode it myself near my shop in Piteå.
Original- and register documents as well as historical documents is included and there are of course lots of more photographs, the body is completely overhauled and renovated as well as the engine - the later done by its previous owner.
Central locking system with key, taillight, saddle etc, etc is intact and original.
