1962 VNB
Year/Make/Model1962 VNB
Description$1400 or best offer: Meet "the Gray Lady" - this is my special scoot and I hate to sell it. She's a bit of a mongrel but goes great: it has a 1962 VNB 125cc engine with a 3-speed manual transmission. Body is a 1963 VNB body. Runs great and is fully registered and titled in Massachusetts. I drove it many times last summer just for fun. She starts up on the 4-5 kick no problem and she'll go 30 -35 easily. I just completely rebuilt the front end - new bearings, new breaks, new damper - all work great! The original Vespa frame number is long gone. This bike was imported from Holland to USA and it came over with a new import frame number when it was imported in 2002. It was originally registered in New York. I bought it in 2015. I had no trouble getting a new Massachusetts Title and Registration - so I can transfer all this to the new owner. I have all the paperwork back to the original import from Holland. YES - I painted it myself and I didn't do a wonderful job. I didn't think it would be hard to get a great finish. But it looks pretty good in my opinion and people do like it! So this maybe not the scoot for a Vespa purist because the frame and engine don't match and paint isn't perfect. But she'd be a great starter scoot for someone who wants to get into it and get riding right away. Only work needed is the front light and the horn electrics. I have a secondary horn that works fine, but someone with a little wiring expertise can probably get the real horn and lights working quickly. Get it, have fun with it - Enjoy your Summer with it!!
