What I remember that summer.. on my friend and I rode from Denver down to Manitou Springs on a 1961 Heinkel tourist and a NSU Prima 3 star and enjoyed the beautiful thunder storms. The Colorado scooter scene at the time was strong. The ride through the Garden of the Gods and up to Pike's Peak on the Heinkel was epic.
