| Description | 1951 Allstate 788-101 with matching Meyers Cruisaire Companion sidecar. I restored this bike and sidecar with a strict attention to detail. No expense was spared in the restoration. My goal was to create a museum quality restoration, showcasing a rare first generation model with as many original accessories as I could find. I was fortunate that the scooter was a very nice original bike, which needed very little bodywork and had zero rust. The scooter was stripped to bare metal, metal worked and painted Allstate Green using the correct single stage paint. The paint is flawless. Correct red oxide primer was applied prior to paint. The engine is original to the bike and has never been disassembled. It runs great. I added a NAGY high compression head to give it more power to pull the sidecar. It pulls like a 150cc, The sidecar is a Meyers Cruisaire companion model, which was sold as an accessory through the Sears catalogue. The sidecar was restored at the same time as the scooter. The upholstery was redone in the original color and material using the original horsehair padding. I found and installed an original NOS Goodyear diamond tread tire, identical to what was installed on it new. The original ID Tag with serial number is present and installed. The trim on the sidecar was properly restored and the original rubber matting was replaced with new matching mat. Included, but not installed is the original windshield base, which was an accessory sold through Sears. Would prefer to sell together but may consider selling separately.
