Comments: But it was a modern update of the Lambretta, is my point.
Actually, they did - Eibar didn't manufacture their own components for quite a while, it was all fabricated in Italy and assembled in Eibar.

Comments: innocenti didn't product Servetas.

Comments: So Alex - you're saying that Innocenti would still be producing vintage style scooters, unabashed by the 70's and 80's and all the styling gaffes that the likes of Piaggio made? The late Servetas were ugly. I think the Cometas/Vegas/Luis etc are an 'acquired taste' - and I'm a Lammy fanatic. Piaggio produced the Cosa, god knows what Innocenti might have come up with. This was conceived by an enthusiast for a niche market - far better than being produced by a huge company for the mass market. I would have been plastic, automatic and only have faint resemblance to the classics, a la ET2/GT. But then Alex, no-one is forcing you to buy one. Or me.

Comments: We were never going to get the old one. Not reliable enough for modern buyers, and too polluting. This is probably not far off as good as you could have expected. If Innocenti was still in existance, their modern Lambretta would look far worse than this.

Comments: ...of course it looks ok, it looks exactly like the old lambrettas, a shiney red one, without the details, lambretta engine, engineering etc...

Comments: It's not welded together, unless someone has found a way of welding carbon fibre... and the engine cradle is completely new. Plus it's type approved. Don't understand that hang-up.
