Comments: The easiest way to tell the difference in chassis is the legshield shoulders, German GS150 chassis are not so rounded (like a regular 50's wideframe, VBA or VBB) when compared to the Pontedera manufactured GS150's. German production decreased alot over the years (like in england at the Douglas factory) the last GS150's the VS5 (VS3) for the german market GS150's were pretty much 90% Italian...look's like the seat is just temporary - there's probably a customised one to go on soon (or should be!)

Comments: That's partially correct based one what I've read. The vespas made by Augsburg GMBH were still made in Germany, but with 100 percent Italian engines. Reason being is that duties were still to high to import directly from Italy. Much cheaper to build in Germany still. That's why Piaggio worked with the Martial Frane investors to create Augsburg in the first place.

Comments: sadly perhaps not so, messerschmitt only made 1,600 GS150's they were a close equivanlent to the the italian VS1 then just a few like the VS2 before packing it in. all the german VS5's were italian VS5's imported by augsburg fitted with german spec trim, headlight, speedo, saddle and that "swan" rear light.

Comments: that would be really ironic if it was a messerschmitt GS150 under that paint - the USAF bombed out the factory!
