Hello,
This is your official invite to the 2003 Independence Day Rally.

Philadelphia has done it again! The Hostile City Scooter Club, with help from the Rabble Rousers Scooter Club, has put together another fantastic weekend of scootering. Events start Thursday July 3rd and run until Sunday July 6th. Since Friday is a holiday, we are looking to start the rally on Thursday night and have a full day of rides and events on Friday. Please know that we will have a swap meet on Friday. That means this is your chance to trade or sell those vintage and new parts you?ve kept in your garage all these years. In addition to all of the rides, drinking, bands and events, Saturday will feature scooter judging and a large vendor area. We are expecting 100 scooters and six scooter shops to attend this years rally. Come out and check out a number of new and vintage scooters for sale. Additional vendors will include records, vintage clothes, punk gear, and a tatto artist.

The rally is $20. This covers drink specials for the entire weekend, a discounted Thursday night show, dinner and entertainment Friday and Saturday, a patch, a rally pack and a shirt. We are not worried about making money; we?re worried about having the best East Coast Rally. People that have attended past Philly rallies know that we offer a full weekend so we hope to see even more people this year. This is not a camping rally so you do have to find your own place to sleep. For three-day hotel packages or more info, e-mail hostilecityscooterclub@hotmail.com or look on the web at hostilecitysc.com. See you in Philly for the 4th!

Please forward this e-mail to anyone else that you'd like to see attend.

Thanks, The Hostile City Scooter Club

Please go to www.ratfink.org
Bigassmotors.com, my other website, always sponsors a big booth there every year since the first one. We jointly get crazy with the girls from whitehottrash.com and varla.com. It's a generally awesome good time.
Since I'll be paying for spaces, I thought maybe I hold out space for scooters to display.

That would also be center of the show free parking for scooters, and a chance for me to throw a scooterbbs.com user appreciation party!

I'll have free sodas and hotdogs for registered users!!!

Hopefully we can have some of us win the scooter trophy this year, as last year i think it was something like a briggs and straton minibike won as best scooter. Sad.

Any body wishing to participate can get me at bigassmotors@yahoo.com.

this was initially conceived as an excuse to visit my parents who live in a rural setting. it's really more of an event for the columbus people, but last year some cincinnati folks showed up.
a vague itinerary:
friday night- meet at my house (361 east clearview, worthington, oh) for a bbq and such. we may run over to capri lanes for some bowling (soon to become the NAMELESS pastime). we can't stay up too late though, we've got some riding to do in the morning...
saturday- trek 50 miles to the farm, perhaps do some swimming, or have a bonfire. what we do up in gambier will be determined on the fly once we get there.
sunday- ride back to columbus.

The Gold Spike on President's Day weekend.
Honestly what more do you really need to know today?
Book your room at the Gold Spike http://www.goldspikehotelcasino.com/. If the Spike is filled up, then book a room at one of the Spike's neighbors: http://www.cheapovegas.com/vegas_map.php?map=downtown. Book early, it is a holiday weekend. Book long, this rally starts Thursday and ends Monday.
Don't forget to book your flight too.
A schedule will be posted at http://www.ScooterAce.com closer to the event. Remember, just book your rooms now!!!
Think Vegas is too expensive? Not after reading this you won't: http://www.bigempire.com/vegas/19dollar1.html.
Please, please all that we ask is that you don't get so intoxicated that you get married to the first girl you meet: http://scoot.net/gallery/2003/02/vegas/Chad__Micheles_Wedding_by_Stafford/
So you can't bring your scooter…
Yes, we know it's hard to put a Vespa in a suitcase. So why not rent a bike? There are a variety of companies that offer rental sccoters, buggies, and motorcycles in Las Vegas.
Sin City Scooters rents Vespas and Malagutis.

Hedonism 2004 - Rally/Campout
Bakersfield, CA April 16-18, 2004
$20 for the whole event (patch, beer
BBQ, DJs) and over 100 miles of riding.

FRIDAY APRIL 16 - Meet and Greet - To Be Announced, watch http://www.unforgivensc.com for more details (should involve Buck Owens Crystal Palace and then a kickass 50s era bowling alley with posh lounge!).

SATURDAY APRIL 17 - Meet at Beach Park at 11 a.m. Beach Park is
located at 24th Street and Oak Street - Bakersfield, CA. Entrance is on 21st
Street. Just off the 99 freeway, downtown/178 west exit. Ride leaves at 1
p.m. We will stop for gas at the edge of town.

The ride to the campground - The ride to the campground is about 60 miles. If
you can't make that distance on a tank of gas, you may need to bring a gas
can. Bikes must be able to hold 45 mph on the open roads please, otherwise,
all bikes are welcome. Your bike MUST be in good condition as this is a
mountain ride. Your brakes and tires must be up to the task. (Not to scare
anyone off, this ride is incredibly fun but we will be away from most
conveniences and hospitals so we don't want anybody to get hurt due to their
bike being in unsafe condition).

You will be allowed to ride at your own skill level. If you aren't as steady through winding roads as other riders, don't sweat it, you can work your way through, we won't leave you on your own. We'll take care of you.

At the campsite - After tents are set up and while the bbq gets warmed up,
we will have an approximately 30 mile ride around Lake Isabella. This is
for those who didn't get enough riding up to the campsite and is entirely
optional.

For the rest of the night, we drain kegs, eat hamburgers and hot dogs [I
realize some scooterists are vegetarians, if enough plant eaters let us know
they are coming, we will try to have some gardenburgers on hand for you, if
we don't know you are coming, you'll have to fend for yourself =P ]. The
DJ's will crank up the music, don't be afraid to dance. The bathrooms are
indoor, lit with running water, there is even a shower! Among other things,
appx. $200 worth of sex toys will be given away in the raffle!!!

SUNDAY APRIL 18 - Wake up and get ready for the ride back to town.
Ride leaves at 11 a.m. (or as soon as the campsite is cleaned haha). 40 miles
through the Kern Canyon along the Killer Kern River back to Beach Park.

FSMSC Ocean City Beach Run
Date: May. 15th-16th,2004
Location: Ocean City, Maryland
contact email: [retreive email address]
for info contact: Tom Karppi
website: http://www.occamping.com/
PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE!

After a lay off of three agonizing years, the infamous Funky Spunk Monkeys SC is again throwing one of their weekend beach campouts in scenic Ocean City, Md. on the weekend of 15-16 May, 2004. Our camping area is only a block off of the Ocean City beach, so walking to the water only takes a couple of minutes. Showers and real bathrooms provided.

Our cunning plan includes: bar-hopping to various bars with live bands, scooting around O.C. like idiots, hot scooter chicks, studly scooter boys, bleach-blonde girls in blue eye shadow, men with mullets, cruising the famous boardwalk, camping in the sea breezes, and (best of all) a scooter ride over the breathtaking Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

We will meet at Annapolis' city dock scooter parking area on Saturday Morning (5-15) around 8 a.m. for muffins and coffee. The ride leaves at 9 a.m. sharp. A chase truck will carry our camping gear, harpoons, inflatable friends, etc. and provide rearguard action. The ride out to Ocean City usually takes about 3 hours, and is a huge amount of fun. The (mostly) back road route does include some secondary highways, so your scooter should be able to maintain a speed of at least 50 MPH. All scooterists are welcome to join, regardless of club affiliation or scooter preference.

If you would like to meet us there we will be camping out at the Ocean City Campground (Coastal Highway at 70th Street): http://www.occamping.com/

If camping is beneath you try these motels nearby:
Tides Motel: 71st & Coastal Hwy Phone: (410) 524-7100
Holiday Inn: 67th St. & Coastal Hwy Phone: (410) 524-1600
Beachmark Motel: 73rd & Coastal Hwy Phone: (410) 524-7300
Barefoot Beachcomber: 75th & Coastal Hwy Phone: (410) 641-4848

The ride returns to Annapolis on Sunday afternoon. Email Tom (ducatiscooter@yahoo.com) or Bobnoxious (brutout@juno.com) with any questions.

The Garden city is among the oldest in West Coast scooter rally traditions. For 20 years, dedicated scooterists have helped to preserve and shape the Garden City weekend. This year we're going all out (and when haven't we?): Huge prizes (hint hint), crazy long rides (and shorter rides for the weak at heart :) ), food, music, friends and just a hella good time. Just mark the time off on your calendar now, reserve your room at the Traveller's Inn and get that scooter fired up. Check the site for details, as we'll release more information about the Rally there. 20 years never felt so good!

Mad Bastard Scooter Rally
Date: Jun. 25th-26th,2004
Location: Toronto, Ontario
contact email: [retreive email address]
for info contact: n/a
website: http://www.cmgonline.com/MBS_Rally/
Yes that's right, it's a 24 hour scooter rally around the 850 or so Km (500+ miles) of Lake Ontario. It's kinda mad, and you have to be a bit of a sorry bastard to want to do it, so we figured that we might as well call it the Mad Bastard Scooter Rally.

2005 will be the second year of this event, with the 2004 rally seeing a grand total of 5 riders (with 4 finishing) all competing in the 75cc and under 'Straight Jacket' class.

We haven't finalized a date yet, but it's looking like the weekend of the 25th/26th of June, 2005 (this submission form would only let us enter 2004). This is the one after the Father's Day weekend and as close to the summer solstice as possible – the idea being that we try and hit as close to the longest day as possible as you'll be out on them scoots for a long, long time.

Location too has yet to be decided, but it's going to be somewhere close to Toronto, Ontario. Although the 2004 Rally only saw scooters under 75cc, we want the MBS Rally to be open to any scooter and are pondering the following classes:

Straight Jacket class - 75cc and under

Heavily Medicated class - Over 75cc and up to150 cc

Therapy Required class - Over 150cc

Time limits in which to complete each class have yet to be set, but the smallest 'Straight Jacket' class will be set at 24 hours.

Please email us if you have any questions, or go to the URL provided for a page which will be updated as more information becomes available.

See you there!

$20.00 per “sleeping unit” (tent, bivy sack, van, etc.)

CAMP SITE:
We have reserved a tent camping area away from the RV and trailer people. We plan to set up camp around noon on Saturday and take a 60 mile group ride around 2:30 in the afternoon.

BRING YOUR OWN EVERYTHING!
This is a highly unstructured event designed for scooterists with absolutely nothing better to do. Families are cordially invited. There are a ton of tourist traps and geegaw shops in the local area, along with miles of twisty lanes.

EPHRATA RALLY:
On Sunday morning, many of us will ride to the Ephrata rally, prior to going home. (Note to those out of the immediate area: during riding months there is a motorcycle rally in Ephrata, PA on the first Sunday of each month. Breakfast is served, and, often, upwards of a thousand bikes show up).

RSVP:
Please let us know if you plan to attend, and the number in your group. This will help us to reserve enough space. Reply to: 3MileIslandScooterClub-owner@yahoogroups.com

It's time again for the rally in the Jemez. Camp Scoot: Full of rides,
fun and, well, drinking. The rides will provide you with an overall feel
of the Jemez Mountain region. The rides extend from the famous Jemez Red
Rocks to Los Alamos, home of the Atomic Bomb. Enjoy the gentle winging
mountain roads with a spectacular view from all directions, or drive way
to fast and fall over a cliff.
Our campsite is located under Battleship Rock. The rally will be
$40 a person for an entire weekend of food, booze and sleep. It will
include the following:
-Open air cabins (camp style, sleeps 10). Or if you prefer to sleep
on the ground, we don't have a problem with that.
-Showers
-Running Water
-Rio Grande Beer provided all Weekend
-Rally Pack including 1 raffle ticket
-Hi-falutin meaty and meat free grub prepared by our local food
celebrity, Gwen Doland and whomever she gets to help out in the kitchen.
She will make you 2 get over you hangover breakfasts and 2 start the
evening of drinking dinners.

The food is going to super fan-freakin-tastick, but if you want to
bring your own, you are more than welcome to. Just be forewarned, there
will be no kitchen facilities available, there are no restaurants close
by, and the closest grocery store is a gas station. The cut off date to
register for food is August 14th. If you need to make other arrangements
please contact us at atomic_sc@newurbantransport.com

T-shirts and patches are available online or at the campsite. The
T's are $10 and a combo will be $12.
Please RSVP Early. This is greatly appreciated because it will help
us ensure the proper amounts of food, shirts and camp reservations. We
look forward to seeing you all for Camp Scoot.

Saturday we are off for an awesome BBQ in the park where we will have a dunk tank and gymkana, evening events TBA, possible foam party. Sunday starting off with breakfast and the show N shine then off to Horse Shoe Bay for an awesome ride and a beverage break. Sunday night at the Morrissey with DJs and the band formally known as The Hoodwinks and then off to the beach! Monday blues of saying goodbye! Keep an eye on the website cause some events will be added and you will be able to purchase rally packs in advance and pay via pay pal. Contact us if you need a place to stay cause we don’t want to have anyone staying in a hotel if they don’t want to.

you and your bike organized.

Spring Scoot 11

This One Goes to Eleven!

April 1, 2, 3 and 4

Hightlights:
Saturday ride extravaganza, Tour of white trash Southeast Portland. See Portland through the eyes one-time Olympic hopeful and Portland darling, Tanya Harding.

Saturday evening: Twist and Play social with a real live burlesque performance by the Cherry Tarts.

The Sunday ride is going in the opposite direction this year. We are not going to Multnomah Falls and we will not be staying at the Edgefield Manor. Instead, if you plan to stay Sunday night, make your reservations at another fine McMenamins hotel, the Grand Lodge in Forest Grove, Oregon. www.mcmenamins.com The lodge has several cool bars, lower room prices than the Edgefield, and a 35-person, garden-enclosed HOT TUB.

We have reserved a block of 13 queen bed and 3 bunk rooms for the group, so individuals and couples can make reservations and get a group rate discount of 10%. To get this discount, call 503-992-9533 and say you are with the *SPRING SCOOT* party. You must make these reservations by MARCH 16TH to get the discount

Drop us an e-mail if you would like to crash with a local for the other nights!

FRIDAY APRIL 22 - Meet and Greet - check the website for updates on this

SATURDAY APRIL 23 - Meet at Beach Park at 11 a.m. Beach Park is located at 24th Street and Oak Street - Bakersfield, CA. Entrance is on 21st Street. Just off the 99 freeway, downtown/178 west exit. Ride leaves at 1 p.m. We will stop for gas at the edge of town.

Ride to the campground - The ride to the campground is about 60 miles. If you can't make that distance on a tank of gas, you may need to bring a gas can. Bikes must be able to hold 45 mph on the open roads please, otherwise, all bikes are welcome. Your bike MUST be in good condition as this is a mountain ride. Your brakes and tires must be up to the task. (Not to scare anyone off, this ride is incredibly fun but we will be away from most conveniences and hospitals so we don't want anybody to get hurt due to their bike being in unsafe condition).

You will be allowed to ride at your own skill level. If you aren't as steady through winding roads as other riders, don't sweat it, you can work your way through, we won't leave you on your own. We'll take care of you.

For the rest of the night, we drain kegs, eat hamburgers and hot dogs [I realize some scooterists are vegetarians, if enough plant eaters let us know they are coming, we will try to have some gardenburgers on hand for you, if we don't know you are coming, you'll have to fend for yourself =P ]. The DJ's will crank up the music, don't be afraid to dance. The bathrooms are indoor, lit with running water, there is even a shower!

SUNDAY APRIL 24 - Wake up and get ready for the ride back to town. Ride leaves at 11 a.m. (or as soon as the campsite is cleaned haha). 40 miles through the Kern Canyon along the Killer Kern River back to Beach Park.

FSMSC Ocean City Beach Run
Date: May. 14th-15th,2005
Location: Ocean City, Maryland
contact email: [retreive email address]
for info contact: Tom Karppi 410-485-0018
Our cunning plan includes: bar-hopping to various bars with live bands, scooting around O.C. like idiots, hot scooter chicks, studly scooter boys, bleach-blonde girls in blue eye shadow, men with mullets, cruising the famous boardwalk, camping in the sea breezes, and (best of all) a scooter ride over the breathtaking Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

We will meet at Annapolis" city dock scooter parking area on Saturday Morning (5-14) around 8:30 a.m. for muffins and coffee. The ride leaves at 9:30 a.m. sharp. A chase truck will carry our camping gear, harpoons, inflatable friends, etc. and provide rearguard action. The ride out to Ocean City usually takes about 3 hours, and is a huge amount of fun. The (mostly) back road route does include the Bay Bridge and some secondary highways, so your scooter should be able to maintain a speed of at least 50 MPH. Discover Rhode Island
Date: May. 29th,2005
Location: Narragansett, Rhode Island
contact email: [retreive email address]
for info contact:
Well, IF it doesn’t rain (it"s rained every weekend for the last month and a half), I’m going to lead a Rhode Island scooter ride on Sunday, May 29th. It’ll be about a 100 mile round-trip route, from Providence to Narragansett – where we’ll hang out at the Pier, eat lunch, then cruise out though the woods and turf fields around URI and back toward the city. At this point, I have no idea if I’m riding alone or not, but (if the weather cooperates) I’m scooting “South County” on Sunday. If I don’t hear from anyone, this ride may originate from our house in Westerly instead of Providence, so send an e-mail or shout out on the Yahoo! group if you think you’d like to meet up in the city for a ride.

Here’s the plan so far:

*10:00 leave 729 Hope St. Café, Providence (just up the hill from Javaspeed Scooters www.javaspeed.net)

*11:00 rendezvous with other riders in Wickford, RI

*12:00 arrive Narragansett Pier, hang out a while then investigate more of the area

*1:00 lunch at a Galilee (if we can find parking) or Point Judith “clam shack”

*2:00 explore more of Narragansett & South County

should have folks back in Providence around 5:00

If anyone is interested in hauling from out of town, you can unload and leave your tuck/trailer at Javaspeed (which will not be open that day). We don’t have a chase truck lined up at this time, but if anyone is driving in who knows someone that would like to follow the ride, it would be nice to have the support. Watch the NewEnglandScooters Yahoo! Group (http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/NewEnglandScooters/) for more information (especially concerning the weather), or e-mail directly if you have any questions. m_w_scott ( a t ) y a h oo ( . ) co m

can please pre Register you vehicle soon.

http://www.ratfink.org/rfparty2k5/carshow.html

For those of you coming a long distance ya can come to my place the night before, I"m only about 2 miles

Vespa Classic Show
Date: Sep. 10th-11th,2005
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
contact email: [retreive email address]
for info contact: Gerry 202-333-8212
Come join Vespa Washington as we welcome local scooterists and those from the Mid-Atlantic region for the Annual Vespa Classic Show, September 10, 2005 and White"s Ferry ride, September 11th.

Come down on Saturday and bring your classic Vespa scooter! This means any Vespa that is pre- ET, GT or LX design qualifies. Scooters will be on display throughout the day and should plan to arrive beginning at 9:30 AM.

In addition to the show, Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 there will be a cookout on the plaza. Burgers, chips, sodas, all the usual suspects.

The Vespa Classic Show will conclude on Saturday with the much anticipated Awards Ceremony at 3:00 PM. The awards categories are:
- Best Rat
- Best in Show
- Longest Traveler
- Random Drawing from all names participating.

Awards range from $50.00 to $100.00 gift certificates for use at the Vespa Washington Boutique or for work at the Vespa Washington Service Center.

Sunday, September 11, brings the group together for a scenic ride to historic White"s Ferry, MD. There will actually be two rides: one for 50cc riders and those wishing to take a more leisurely ride and another for the bigger and faster scoots. Scooterists should plan to arrive at Vespa Washington for coffee and doughnuts beginning at 8:00 AM, with the 50"s taking off at 8:30 and the second ride at 9:00 AM. All should return to VoW at or around 12 noon.

Questions? Contact Vespa Washington at 202-333-8212 or email boutique@vespawashington.com. Generally, all Vespas with manual transmission (and yes, your PK Automatica is also welcome) are invited to display, regardless of year, model, or condition - we want to showcase the scooters people ride! We would love to know in advance the year and model of your scooter, along with any other credits/details you want us to know so we may make a placard. But if the spirit moves you at the last minute, you can still drop by unannounced and we"ll be happy to see you.

We"re looking forward to a great turnout. It"s all about the scoot!
